York v. Sydow is an illustrator, motion graphics designer, and concept artist based in Cologne, Germany.
he focuses on visual storytelling in his work. Even, when creating motion graphics or lyric videos, his strong background in illustration and design informs his creative and visual decisions heavily. He can rely on his expertise in composition and shape language to create striking imagery in any art style.
Although he has a soft spot for Japanese animation styles, he has the ability to quickly adapt to any visual direction that is thrown his way and work within it.
in 2022, he earned his Diploma in Animation from Film Academy Baden-Württemberg through the Animation Series-Concept “KAHIBO”, after having worked on a number of short films and games.
During his studies, he started working in the advertisement and entertainment industries as a freelancer. A range of student-run projects have provided him with a solid foundation in different skills, workflows, and pipelines. This has also taught him to adapt to new teams and new projects quickly and effectively. He gained experience in 3d Modelling and texturing, concept art, environment design, visual storytelling, writing, and directing.
